The purpose of our Annual Campaign which takes place September–December is to raise money from District families, community members, and Business Partners that provides critical supplementation to PVSD’s General Fund. PVSD is a “minimum…” District which means, because of our socio-economic status, the State of California contributes very little to our operating budget.
Our goal in the 2017-’18 school year is to raise at least $900,000 so we can keep our class sizes small, and provide excellent supplemental programs like music, physical education, and foreign language instruction. Most importantly, we are able to recruit and retain excellent teachers, provide funds to hire classroom aides and learning specialists, and offer our students counseling services.
Maintaining these qualities, programs, and services that many of us consider essential to our children’s education is possible because of our ability to supplement PVSD’s funding with successful Annual Campaigns, year after year.
We are proud to live in a District where 80% of District families and hundreds of community members and business partners have contributed to the campaign year after year.
The Foundation’s contribution generally accounts for ~9% of the overall budget in the General Fund. Most of that contribution is collected during our Annual Campaign but also comes from the Foundation’s bi-annual auction and Endowment Grants. Learn more about the General Fund
