Kurzweil is a multi-use software program providing greater access to curriculum for students with learning challenges.
It provides assistance in teh following ways:
- digital text which increases the flexibility of printed material
- text to speech features so written work or printed materials can be read aloud to the student
- writing and self-editing tools involving audible spell checker, word predication
- study skill tools including highlighting text, voice notes, extraction of word lists and outlines
Successful 4th and 7th grade pilots is leading to a district-wide rollout.
