The 2007-2008 Annual Campaign is complete
Thanks to all our supporters! We have achieved our goal of $800K raised with greater than 70% parent participation.
2007-2008 Annual Campaign goal set at $800K
This year, the Annual Campaign has set a fundraising
goal of $800K to help ensure that the quality of education for our
children continues to grow.
Our community has the intellectual and financial resources, and hence the
responsibility, to make The Portola Valley School District a leader, not only
in the "three R's," but with innovative 21st century learning methods.
Who are We?
The Portola Valley Schools Foundation (PVSF) is an all-volunteer,
non-profit organization committed to fundraising for the Portola Valley
School District's schools: Ormondale and Corte Madera. We raise money
to support enhanced school programs and to ensure a high-quality public
education for the approximately 710 students in the district.
Why Do We Need a Foundation?
State and local funding for our schools is inadequate to
provide the educational programs we want for our children. PVSF was created
in 1990 by a group of concerned parents to provide a permanent fundraising

How are Funds Raised?
Funds are raised through an annual campaign,
through special Foundation Gala
events, eSCRIP and interest on our Endowment Fund.
How is the Money Used?
The Foundation is not a policy-making organization; decisions
as to how monies are allocated are made by the School Board.
The monies raised by the annual
campaign each year become part of the school district's annual budget.
Those funds provide support for small class size in Grades 4-8 (the state
provides funds for K-3); specialists in Science, Music, Art, and Foreign
Language for Grades K-5; and a double period of English for students in
Grades 6-8. [Learn

What Can I Do at this Website?
