Proudly supporting Ormondale and Corte Madera Schools since 1990.
Ormondale and Corte Madera, both currently recognized as California Distinguished Schools, are places where your child can blossom. With 21st learning methods and teachers who nurture the whole child, our schools are among the best in the state of California. These positive outcomes would not be possible without the financial support of the whole community each year through the non-profit Portola Valley Schools Foundation. The Foundation bridges the gap between available public funding and what is necessary to provide the quality education we expect for our children.
This year, the Portola Valley School District celebrates its 150th birthday. On this anniversary, we acknowledge and honor our community's long-standing history of commitment to excellence in public education. Community support and private giving have been a part of the district's culture since its inception, when cable-car inventor Andrew Halladie donated the land for the first school. Please join this long tradition by supporting the 2011-2012 Annual Campaign.
Message to Community from Foundation Presidents on May 9, 2012.
In response to recent developments within our school district, the Portola Valley Schools Foundation has received an outpouring of support for our schools from the community. We are working to marshall all of our resources, including those from our successful Annual Campaign this year, along with proceeds from our most recent Gala and eScrip program, to assist the District in coming to a fiscally sound and expedient resolution. It is through generous donations, at every level of the community and over an extended period of time, that the Foundation has the ability to respond during times of financial challenges.
We thank you for your past and continuing support. As always, our goal remains ensuring an excellent education for all our children, and your support is both appreciated and critically important. It is times like these that we are reminded how truly fortunate we are to live in such a caring and generous community.
If you have any questions or are looking for ways to get involved, please contact one of us or a Foundation board member (a full listing of the Foundation board can be found at www.pvschoolsfoundation.org/board-members). We also welcome any additional donations at our website or by mail. Remittance envelopes are available in both school offices or you can mail your donation directly to PV Schools Foundation, 4575 Alpine Road, Portola Valley, CA 94028.
